Avira offers frequent virus definitions updates in order to keep its users safe from new malware outbreaks.
However, there are computer users who do not perform such updates as often as required, while many others do not use antivirus protection at all. For all those experiencing the damaging effects of a virus infection, Avira's researchers have prepared a free
removal tool, which can be used to eliminate major distinct threats.
Avira AntiVir Support Collector (Windows)
Business customers who have the AntiVir Support Service can use the AntiVir Support Collector which helps us to provide fast support and a professional solution. The AntiVir Support Collector creates a detailed error analysis of your system.
Please unpack the ZIP file after downloading and store it in a directory, then start the EXE file and activate the start button. Please enter your user data into the template so your data can be identified.
The "standard" system check only takes a few minutes and once completed please send the ZIP file "AVSUPINF.ZIP" directly to your Avira Support contact. They will answer your inquiry as soon as possible.
Avira AntiVir Support Collector (Unix/Linux)
Business customers who have the AntiVir Support Service can use the AntiVir Support Collector which helps us to provide fast support and a professional solution. The AntiVir Support Collector creates a detailed error analysis of your system.
Please unpack the TAR.GZ archive in the console with e.g. "tar xvzf support-collector.tar.gz" into a directory of your choice. Then change to the folder Support-Collector. Start the Support-Collector with the command "./unix_support_collector.sh" and confirm the creation of a compressed archive with the information in the following dialogue with "y". Then please send the new TAR.GZ file named "support-.tar.gz" to your Avira Support contact, for analysis. They will answer your inquiry as soon as possible.
Avira Support Customer Module
The customer module is necessary for a remote connection to the Avira Support. Please, download the module and start it at the suggestion of the Avira support. After that, please, tell us the ID and the password in order to establish the connection.
Disclaimer of warranty: The customer is required to ensure that the interaction between remote access and other units (software and hardware) cannot cause any damage. If damage occurs directly or indirectly during a remote connection, liability for this will not be accepted. This exclusion of liability does not apply in cases of malicious intent or gross negligence. The burden of proof that the damage was caused by the remote connection lies solely with the customer.
Avira AntiVir Rescue System
The Avira AntiVir Rescue System a linux-based application that allows accessing computers that cannot be booted anymore. Thus it is possible to repair a damaged system, to rescue data or to scan the system for virus infections. Just double-click on the rescue system package to burn it to a CD/DVD. You can then use this CD/DVD to boot your computer. The Avira AntiVir Rescue System is updated several times a day so that the most recent security updates are always available.
For the Avira Rescue System, you need a PC/ Notebook with:
RAM: at least 512 MB, 750 MB recommended CD-ROM drive or free USB slot
Keyboard (mouse recommended)
Resolution: at least 800x600 Pixel
Avira RegistryCleaner
Normally the Avira RegistryCleaner removes all entries that were created by AntiVir. In this way, it prepares your system for the installation of a new AntiVir version.
AntiVir Boot Sector Repair Tool
Boot repair - no chance to dangerous boot sector viruses under DOS! There is a new tool available to detect and remove boot sector viruses under the operating system DOS. All AntiVir users can download the search and repair tool, which contains a signature-VDF as well as a user interface (ANTIVIR.EXE).
Avira AntiRootkit Tool
For Avira AntiVir Personal, Premium, Premium Security Suite, Professional or Server products on Windows 2000, Windows XP and Vista (32 Bit).
Avira AntiVir Rootkit Protection recognizes active rootkits. However, there also exist rootskits, which are used legally in programs. Avira AntiVir Rootkit Protection also detects those. Please note that using reported rootkits is at your own risk and it can cause program errors.
Avira AntiVir Command Line Scanner ScanCL (Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003/ 2008) and Avira AntiVir Command Line Scanner ScanCL (Linux)*
Using the new Avira AntiVir Command Line Scanner ScanCL you can scan your system fast and easy from the command prompt. The ScanCL works with the new Avira AntiVir Engine, which comes with even better detection rate and scanning speed.
* You can still download the previous version of the Avira AntiVir Command Line Scanner AVCLS, but note that its detection rate will rapidly decrease.
